This game featured the exchange variation of the the
Slav Defense. GM Panno playing to equalize did so
with the maneuver 15... Bb5 followed shortly there-
after with 17... Qb5. This led to an equal endgame
position in which neither player was in a further
mood to fight for more. This (of course) led to
an early exit to the ever busy analysis room. As,
then after the finish of the post-mortem analysis,
GM Benko would show us just a small sampling
of his many endgame compositions for all of us
to enjoy and relish!
These original scoresheets are in very good shape (they
remained boxed & fully protected for over twenty-seven
years). Both scoresheets are fully signed by both GM
Benko & GM Panno (matched set pair). Quite suitable
for framing... :-)
